The 2012 Boardman River Clean Sweep will be led by members of the
Traverse Area Paddle Club.

The public is welcome to attend and work with us during this event. Please bring your own canoe or kayak.

All NON-TAPC participants must sign or, if a minor, have a parent or guardian sign the Release of Liability Waiver.

The main cleanup event is scheduled for June 2nd, 2012. There will be a second downtown section
cleanup during the NCF on July 13th which may include members of the public.

All participants EXCEPT the downtown crew will meet at BROWN BRIDGE POND BOAT LAUNCH PARKING LOT
NOT SCHECKS at 9:00am on Saturday June 2nd.

The Downtown crew will meet at the HULL PARK just behind the library at 9:30am.

The GT Hiking Club is cleaning the Forks section in conjunction with their National Trail Days celebration.

The Brownbridge to Shumsky section has been divided into two sections in order to make it easier for
those people to finish in time for the raffle and picnic.

The river has changed since last year due to the lowering of Brown Bridge Pond and many new trees down in the river.
Safety is our biggest concern this year, so everyone who paddles on the river will be required to use a PFD and have
extra clothing available in case of an accident. Bring your dry bags or have extra clothing at the takeout.

This year, Steve Largent of the Grand Traverse Conservation District, has identified several areas upstream of
the Forks area which are in need of cleaning. The Kingsley High School 4H Challenge Club will be assisting us.

The TAPC will graciously provide the food and services for the picnic. The Grand Traverse Conservation District
will provide the picnic location at the Nature Center's Oleson Pavilion and other services to the BRCS.

Funding for T-shirts and for the picnic location is being sought.

The upsteam areas, as well as the regular sections of the river that we have always cleaned will
be done. As before, trails, bridges and landings along the river will be cleaned.

This year we will attempt to recycle as much trash as we can. American Waste has kindly donated
1 dumpster and several recycle bins for that purpose and we will bring all the trash to the Nature
Center to be sorted.

Raffle prizes are being sought. Raffle tickets are being sold.

We hope to have a larger and better BRCS this year.
