2012 National Cherry Festival Report

Years ago we began to assist the NCF with trash cleanups in the Open Space but in recent years we have
been doing our work on the river for which we are uniquely qualified and experienced.
As in the past four years, we will work with the NCF staff and downtown businesses to do a cleanup on the
downtown section of the river during the National Cherry Festival event.
It's fun to paddle through town during the NCF and the TAPC club gets a lot of positive exposure through this event.
It's a relatively easy paddle and lots of fun. Come join us again this year if you can. Non-club members are
welcome, so bring a paddle friend.
We have a few extra canoes to loan for cleanups, so if you know someone who would like to participate and
who knows how to paddle but doesn't have a boat, let me know.
Novices without some river experience should not do this cleanup.
There is occasionally strong current, deep water and obstacles that can be dangerous and can cause injury to those
who don't know how to negotiate them safely.
*****Non-members will be required to sign a Waiver of Liability before the event.
We'll meet at Hull Park (behind the NEW Library) at 9:00am.
