Boardman River Clean Sweep/DNR
Forest Dump Site Cleanup
November 03, 2014

Ada Takacs reported two illegal dump sites east of Kingsley near Camp Pugsley just off Walsh Rd.

One site had a pickup topper filled with trash and the other was two piles of shingles.

Our Crew: Mark, Chris, Ada, Jim, Norm, Tom C, Tom R, Paul.

Easy Peezy as Glenn would say. But it turned out that the shingle site was a monster.

It was a nice, cool, clear day with a little wind. One group of 5 of us went to the topper
site with Ada's pickup truck and we had it finished in 30 minutes.

The other group of 3 headed to the shingle site with the front end loader and big truck.

When we arrived at the shingle site, they had about ¼ of the truck filled. In about
an hour and a half, we got all the shingles in the truck and we had restored both sites
to naturally appearing places.

The DNR folks left and then we (the crew from Bethlehem Church) took a break
and had lunch in the woods.

Thanks to everyone who helped get these two sites back to nature.
