All participants must sign or, if a minor, have a parent or gaurdian sign the Release of Liability Waiver
a printable format of which can be found by clicking the Download Liability Waiver link on the Main Page.
The main cleanup event is scheduled for June 5th, 2010. All participants will meet at Scheck's landing
at 9:00am on Saturday June 6th. Please don't be late. Everyone else will be waiting for you. Try to get there
a few minutes early to sign in and get assigned to a leader.
Several students and adults will be paddling on the river in canoes. Adults and students will paddle together.
This year, Steve Largent of the Grand Traverse Conservation District, has identified several areas which are
upstream of the Forks area which are in need of cleaning. Steve will lead the remaining KHS students and others.
They will be divided into 2 groups along with others an they will be transported to the work areas.
All participants should wear clothes that they don't mind getting wet and/or dirty. A change of clothes NO FLIP-FLOPS!!!
The water will be cold and the air might be cool, too. Wear long pants and bring a light nylon jacket.
Hazardous items are in the river and on the banks - glass, fish hooks, sharp limbs, sharp rocks, and more.
No one will be allowed to walk in the river or on the banks barefooted.

Substansial shoes THAT TIE and cover the whole foot are Required.
Care will be encouraged and safety discussed. We want this event to be injury free.
