Followup Removal Of Two Docks on Upper Platte River Report
Thursday, July 20, 2023
2023 Project #36

During the UPR cleanup, we found 2 pieces of large flood debris. One was a dock with steel legs wedged into
a log jam and the other was a piece of wooden fence. I took several photos to mark the locations for later removal.

John Ransom and Jim Keglevitz volunteered to come get them out of the river if I could find them which I did.

We put the fence in the DNR dumpster at Veteran's Park.

The dock was VERY heavy, so we cut into smaller pieces and took the metal and left the wood to dry
out to be removed later. The metal went into the DNR dumpster at Goose Creek Campground

This cast iron piece that we retrieved on July 15 was almost put in the dumpster but Cladia K. told us not
to do that because it was probably valuable. She was right!

We sold it to Wilson Antiques for $75.00 that went to the BRCS. Claudia was very happy to hear she was right.
