Boardman River Clean Sweep
BRCS - River Pitch to Shumsky Landing Cleanup Report
Friday, June 16, 2023

This section of the Boardman/Ottaway River was the site for the BRCS on June 16, 2023.
Nine individuals in one canoe and seven kayaks combined found only one half bag of trash, which is a sign
that the cumulative efforts of many river stewards (over the years) are resulting in a noticeably cleaner river.

Overcast skies and temperatures around 60, with patches of sun, made for a very pleasant day on
the river with friends.

And, as always, the BRCS participants made their focus safety, teamwork and collecting as much trash
as possible.

It was a successful event and a great paddle.

Added Note:

Ann Reichert was awarded the 2023 Strokes Of Acheivement Award today.

Ann has been a long time volunteer and supporter of the BRCS and has dedicated herself, along with Jim Batsakis
to leading volunteers on this same section of the river for 12 years. Her dedication and loyalty needed to be recognized
and it was.
