Hoosier Valley Road Cleanup Report
December 6, 2015

On Dec 3, 2015, I was notified by hunters that there was trash in the creek along side the Hoosier Valley Rd.
I went out to take a look and realized that the creek was a direct tributary of the Boardman River and there were
possible paint, oil and solvent cans in the creek which needed to be removed ASAP.

Today 5 very motivated people from the GREEN TEAM of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Traverse City
came together to clean 6 small dumpsites on Hoosier Valley Road. All of the trash was taken to a dumpster
at the DNR offices on Mill Rd just a few miles to the south of the dump site. Access was approved by the DNR.

The BRCS wishes to thank the five volunteers, especially the very adventurous 10 year old Quinten Branch, who
felt that working in the local woods was more important than a day spent at home. Good for all of us ! ! ! ! !

A special THANK YOU goes out to Steve Largent of the Grand Traverse Conservation District
for the use of their small utility trailer.
